Psychotherapy

We are so much more than our troubles. This belief is at the root of how I work.  I am interested in people’s stories, strengths, and hopes, along with  their problems and symptoms.

Using an integrated approach to psychotherapy, I draw on my training in psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, systems theory, and neuroscience.   Although I tailor my work to match the needs of the individual person, all of what I do is built on creating relationships that include respect, compassion and a spark or two of humor.

I see myself as an active, collaborative  therapist, which means I listen, reflect, play with ideas, offer skills and information, and invite people to reframe thoughts and situations. Areas of focus may include emotional, physical, spiritual, relational and work issues.

 Special Interests:

  • Anxiety
  • Relationship Issues–building, deepening, repairing, or letting go
  • Helping people through life transitions including graduation,  parenting, retirement, divorce, illness, grief, and losses of all sorts
  • Working with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds

People of all religions, races, cultures, sexual orientation and genders are welcome. These days I work primarily with adults 19 and older.

I am on the following insurance panels, but please check with your insurance provider to be sure that your specific plan lists me as a provider, as plans now have multiple product lines, and some do not include all of their providers:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Aetna
  • Medicare
